You’ve done the hard part — moving to Germany. Now, we’ll show you exactly how to turn your skills into an offer letter.

Germany has welcomed thousands of highly skilled Opportunity Card holders like yourself — educated, motivated, and ready to work. Yet even with strong qualifications, many face hidden barriers that slow their success. That’s why we’re on a mission to train 2,000 Opportunity Card holders in 1 year, equipping them with the tools, confidence, and visibility to become job-ready and stand out to employers across Germany.

What you can expect

Thursday, September 11th

04:00 PM – 08:00 PM

By the end of this training, you’ll walk away with:

– Strategies to find and create your own job opportunities, and outsmart the job boards.

– Techniques to pass interviews like an insider and ask the right questions.

– A local-proof negotiation plan to secure salary, benefits, and terms you deserve.

– Strategies to explain your Opportunity Card visa to employers and guide them through the steps after a job offer.

– A Tour of the GLS Campus, one of the best language schools in Germany, in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg.

Program Overview

3 PM – 4 PM

Kick Things Off with Coffee & Conversations

Doors open at 3 PM — come early to enjoy free coffee drinks from our special coffee cart (cappuccino, macchiato, americano, espresso, hot chocolate, chai latte) and mingle with the speakers and fellow attendees before the modules begin!

4 PM – 4:15 PM

Kick off & introduction with our venue partner GLS Language School

4:15 Pm – 4:45 PM

The trusted candidate blueprint

Think your CV needs to be different to get noticed? Wrong. It needs to be flawless and an honest reflection of who you are. You’ll also discover how to bypass job boards, target companies directly, and use outreach that gets responses. Stop waiting for openings. Start creating your own opportunities.

4:45 PM – 5:15 PM

Interviews aren’t tests — they’re conversations

Most people go into interviews trying to impress without understanding why each step exists. But interviews aren’t about perfect answers — they’re conversations: they’re about knowing who you’re talking to and what matters to them. Learn how to speak to each decision-maker, gather the information you need to know if the role truly fits, and replace the “please pick me” mindset with a confident, equal-footing conversation.

5:15 PM to 5:45 PM

Tour of the GLS Campus – get an inside look at one of Berlin’s top language schools!

5:45 Pm – 6:15 PM

Negotiate like a local — it’s all up for discussion (if you know how)

Think it’s just about the salary? Think again. We’ll go through typical German contract clauses — from duration to notice period — and give you the confidence and scripts to lead the conversation. Learn what’s standard, what’s negotiable, and how to close the deal without feeling undervalued.

6:15 – 6:45 PM

Opportunity card next steps for employers & candidates

You’ll learn how to explain your visa status clearly and address employer objections. We’ll also walk you through the exact steps that follow a job offer, so you and your employer know how the conversion works and give employers the confidence to move forward without hesitation.

6:45 PM – 8:00 PM

Networking and mingling in GLS Campus Garden

This training was delivered by Sukesh Das (My Relocator), covering how to explain the Opportunity Card to employers and the next steps after a job offer, and by Céline Barns (Early Edgers), with career preparation modules.
